The test states that for a given series $\sum_${n=0}^{\infty $}$a_{n}$$ where $a_${n}=(-1)^$n$(b_{n}$)$ or $a_${n}=(-1)^${n+1}$(b_{n}$)$ where for all n, if and is a decreasing sequence, then $\sum_${n=0}^{\infty $}$a_{n}$$ is convergent.

First, we must evaluate the limit of as n approaches infinity:
