Common Core 3rd Grade ELA Question of the Day

Test your knowledge with a hand-picked multiple-choice question.

Each morning, families choose how to get to school. Some ride in cars, while others walk on sidewalks or use bikes. Walking can give kids exercise and fresh air before class begins. I think schools should encourage walking when safe routes are available, such as streets with crosswalks and crossing guards. A short walk can also reduce traffic near the school entrance. However, bad weather, long distances, or busy roads make walking hard for some families. In those cases, cars or buses may be best. My view is that schools can share maps of safe paths and remind everyone to use care, but families will decide what works for them.
