Adding and Subtracting Large Numbers

In 4th grade math, you'll often add and subtract numbers with more than one digit. This means lining up the digits by place value and working from right to left.

Steps to Add and Subtract

1. Line up the numbers by their place values.
2. Start at the right (ones place).
3. Add or subtract each column.
4. Regroup (carry or borrow) if needed.
