Pictures Help You Understand

When you read, look at the pictures or illustrations. They give you clues about what is happening in the story and help you understand new words.

  • Before you read, look at the pictures to guess what the story might be about.
  • While you read, use the pictures to help you figure out tricky words or events.

Pictures make reading more fun and help you learn!

  • Looking at a picture of a rainy day to understand what the story weather is like.
