During high school, I worked as a chess tutor for elementary school students and served as my brother's unofficial tutor for the SHSATs. I tutor a broad range of middle school subjects, but I am most passionate about chess and writing. For years, I was heavily involved in chess, and I love sharing my enthusiasm for the game with younger players. Writing is another favorite subject of mine, and I am excited to help students enhance their writing skills and express themselves effectively. My teaching philosophy centers on creating compelling and engaging lessons. I believe tutors occupy a unique positionnot quite peers, but not quite traditional teacherswhich allows them to get students excited and interested about the subjects they are teaching.

In my free time, I enjoy journaling, board game design, and combing through StreetEasy and Zillow listings.
