About Me
I am a graduate of The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). I received my Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science with a concentration in Conservation and Restoration Ecology. I have three years of tutoring students at my University over courses including Ecology, Botany, Zoology, Intro to Environmental Science, and Woody Plants. Here I acted as a conversation partner and a reviewer for the many students who attended the school. I still teach a couple of the students through Zoom for free on my own time. While in Paraguay I was an Education Intern and would go with my coworkers to teach environmental and wildlife topics to children of various ages all in Spanish and a bit of Guaran. Returning to the States I have worked at UTSA again during the summer as a camp counselor and now work as an educator at a teacher substitution company called Scoot Education. Along with tutoring Paraguayan students, I also work as a Math tutor for Each One Teach One a San Antonio company working to help adults gain their GED or become fluent in English. I can teach many subjects, but favorites include any time of life science mostly about animals and evolution, or teaching ESL (I'm TESOL) certified or Spanish.
Hobbies & Interests
In my free time, I like exploring the wild to discover new critters in new locations to add the my iNaturalist. I also love language learning and I am currently trying to become fluent in Spanish and Italian while knowing enough Khmer for my Fulbright Scholarship as an English Teaching Assistant in Cambodia. I love dancing, video games, and reading along with traveling to new regions.
