As a passionate tutor with a Bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor, I am committed to helping students succeed! As a pre-medical student I have achieved a mastery of subjects such as Anatomy & Physiology, Biology, Biochemistry, and Organic Chemistry. I connect with each student personally to identify their unique challenges and strengths, using tailored strategies to simplify complex concepts and improve understanding. Moreover, my teaching approach emphasizes practice based learning. I can always provide thorough background knowledge and teaching lessons on a white board when needed, however, I firmly believe in learning by application and will provide worksheets, cheat sheets, and practice work whenever possible! My experience in the classroom has further honed my ability to foster academic growth as I have spent my past gap year as a substitute teacher for the Michigan Public School System grades K-12. This experience has further ignited my passion and refined my approach as an educator and tutor! Most of all, I understand firsthand what it means to fail, struggle, and be frustrated in an academic setting. However, our failures leave the most opportunity to learn and grow and I hope to provide an environment of comfort and understanding where that can come about. I would never make my students feel inferior and teach with an abundance of patience knowing that anyone is capable of learning anything, it often just needs to begin with the right teacher! (:
