About Me
Hello! My lifelong love of language fosters an enthusiastic, interactive learning environment. I've written for major publications like the New York Daily News, Orlando Sentinel, and Chicago Tribune, and published over 100 short stories in the North American Review, The Iowa Review, and The Kenyon Review, with "The Scratchboard Project" earning an honorable mention in The Best American Short Stories series. I've authored four novels, including the YA novel The Night I Freed John Brown (Penguin Random House), which won the Paterson Prize. I hold an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Central Florida and taught English at Seminole State College. I'd love to help you reach your writing or language goals. What specific skills or projects do you want to focus on? How can I then tailor my teaching approach to best suit your needs?
