I am currently in my 4th year of teaching as a 4th grade teacher in the Bronx. I moved to New York City as a Teach for America Corps member and attended Relay Graduate School of Education for my MAT in Childhood Education. During this time, I worked at Bronx Charter School for Excellence (BCSE), a high achieving charter school in Parkchester. During my two years at the school, my 4th graders received some of the highest test scores in the state and BCSE was the #1 highest scoring charter school in New York City. After serving my 2 years in the TFA Corp, I decided to continue teaching in the Highbridge community. I have experience teaching diverse groups of learners and enjoy finding new teaching strategies to reach all of my students. I have taught both in general education and special education settings. I firmly believe every child has the potential to find success in school and am passionate about working to serve all of my students. I am excited to begin tutoring and use my skills as a teacher to support children outside of my school community. I have a wealth of resources from the two schools I have worked at and the many experiences I have had working with struggling learners.
