Certified Tutor

I am a certified English and ESL teacher with over eight years teaching experience. I also double-majored in Spanish in college and have spent time traveling and living throughout Latin America. I recently earned my master's degree in English from Kutztown University. I am passionate about teaching and learning English, writing, and Spanish, and I love helping students be able to understand, and hopefully even enjoy, English or Spanish.

I believe we can learn so much about life from reading literature, and I work hard to help my students understand difficult texts and be able to connect to them. As a tutor, I can work at your pace to help you talk about and understand the literature you are reading and help you master even the most difficult concepts.

I also have a strong commitment to teaching writing. It has been through my own experience of writing paper after paper that I have learned how arduous, but also rewarding, the writing process can be. I have a lot of experience taking students through the different stages of the writing process as well, and as a tutor am able to help you find what you want to say about your topic, develop your ideas so that you feel confident about your writing, and create your argument with conviction. It is a long and challenging process, but I love taking students through it so that at the end, they feel satisfied with their work.

Just like writing, I think learning another language is a really challenging process, and it takes lots of practice. It is so exciting, though, to be able to communicate with someone in another language. I try to find the method(s) that helps my students the most with learning and mastering the concepts in language acquisition. And I'm a big believer in practice, practice, practice!
