Certified Tutor

I am a graduate of Texas State University-San Marcos. I received my bachelor’s degree in early childhood education. As part of my degree program I am certified to work with ESL students. Since graduation, I have been working at a charter school as a 3rd grade teacher. I also tutor some of my former, as well as incoming students. I am passionate about working with kids in a hand-on learning environment. I believe that students better retain information when they can physically work with what they are learning (ex. Games, foldables, ect.). I love working with students on reading and writing. I spend most of my normal teaching day working on those two things. I believe that in order to be successful in all other academic areas you need to have a concrete reading ability. I have a lot of experience working with students on test prep as well. I have many hands-on activities to help with this, so that it is not boring and redundant. I like to think of my teaching style as hands-on and lots of fun! In my spare time, I love being outdoors and watching football. Go Texans!
