I have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from Regis University. I have graduated with honors. I have been working for the past two years as java developer for a couple of clients. Currently, I am working as a private tutor while pursuing my graduate degree in Speech Pathology.
Coming from a software engineering background and currently pursuing a graduate degree in speech pathology, I am strong in mathematics and the natural sciences.I especially enjoy teaching algebra, pre-calculus and preparing students for the SAT. Because I am knowledgeable in these subjects and especially enjoy tinkering with numbers, I'm able to clearly explain to students in a way where they can follow the steps to solving a problem while I guide them.I like to see my students faces light up when they conquer tough problems.I am skilled and experienced in K-12 Math and Reading Comprehension preparation.
I have a passion for teaching. Education has given me opportunities that I could have never imagined; I want to work with my students so they can have new doors open for them by building confidence in their learning.
I strongly believe learning should be done in an interactive environment where students can ask me questions. I guide my students in a step-by-step systematic approach.

What is your teaching philosophy?
I strive to help you have a clear understanding of all concepts related to a problem instead of just lecturing facts to arrive at the answer. Learning is easy when you have a step-by-step systematic problem-solving approach!
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
In the first session, I want to get to know the student. I will ask the student what topics they excel in and what topics are more troublesome. I will also give some helpful suggestions while solving a few example problems with the student.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
I will solve some problems with the student and be there for the student while he/she solves similar problems independently.
