What is your teaching philosophy?
All students have different ways of learning, so I hope to present material in various ways until one way makes perfect sense.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
In a typical first session, I would assess which subjects the student struggles with, as well as the subjects he/she excels at and try to find a way to incorporate their interests into the material to help it make more sense.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
In order to help students become independent learners, I can demonstrate problem-solving strategies and encourage further practice and research in the area.
How would you help a student stay motivated?
I would constantly provide feedback and positive reinforcement, as well as encourage the student to never give up!
If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?
I would apply various approaches to the concept and try my best to make sure the student understands the foundation before building more on to the subject.
