Get to know their learning style, because we all learn in a different way.

How can you help a student become an independent learner?

By teaching them how to study, and showing them how to be confident in themselves.

How would you help a student stay motivated?

When you show a student their progress, they see how they're improving. It keeps them motivated.

If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?

I believe a majority of students are visual, so I use videos and audio a lot.

How do you help students who are struggling with reading comprehension?

Reading is the key to do good in all subjects. I will show them how reading can help them with their daily life.

What strategies have you found to be most successful when you start to work with a student?

Getting to know them and their learning style.

How would you help a student get excited/engaged with a subject that they are struggling in?

Students struggle when they don't know what to do. By keeping them involved and engaged at all times, they will get it.

What techniques would you use to be sure that a student understands the material?

I check for understanding at the end of every section.

How do you build a student's confidence in a subject?

Students gain confidence when they learn-- when they see they progress.

How do you evaluate a student's needs?

By knowing their learning style, and adjusting my lesson to their needs.

How do you adapt your tutoring to the student's needs?

By knowing their needs and targeting their struggles.

What types of materials do you typically use during a tutoring session?

I use video, audios, books handouts, and reasoning.
