Providing the opportunities for students to excel and surpass their goals in science and math is my goal. As a science teacher, I always want my students to make real connections with the materials that they are learning. Being able to provide specific examples that students are familiar with, and explaining the connections made between our observations and the science behind the occurrence has proven to be extremely useful to my past and present students.

Generally I like to determine the student's specific learning style and background knowledge. It is always critical to determine the foundation, and then to build efficiently from there.

I can provide detailed guidance for preparing and following study habits that include good research habits. Students can learn how to establish good reference and practice materials, especially for writing technical papers and documents.

That honestly depends on the student. Some students may simply need to see some interesting demonstrations to regain focus and motivation, while others may need more emotional support to continue with difficult topics and concepts. This would depend on the situation and reasons for the loss of motivation.

Try a different approach. There aren't too many places that can't be reached by more than one route. If there is a specific skill or concept that is troubling, determine what is causing the greatest issue, plan some steps to remedy the problem, ease the stress, and feel the success of overcoming the obstacle.

I often find students who struggle with comprehension are best suited to visual learning. Trying to connect the words with imagery can often lead students to a better understanding of the materials.

Generally I use a fairly broad group of strategies that includes: reading and comprehension of fundamental concepts applied with concept imagery, note taking and rehearsal practice (flash cards, tables, etc.), demonstrations or examples of phenomenon coupled with calculation examples and practice, and virtual labs with applied exercises.

I always prefer to connect real-life scenarios that can be easily observed and make those connections with the science that is occurring.

I prefer to finish each lesson with a small assessment to be completed online that will allow both the student and I to gauge their progress and mastery of each topic/lesson.

By providing the student with opportunities for increased success. Generally as a student progresses, the challenges become greater. If a student reaches a portion of the material that seems more difficult and doesn't show immediate success, then lower level successes can be achieved and be rebuilt towards the overall success of the subject.

Strictly based on the strengths and weaknesses of the student, and specific input from the student themselves.

I will always try to match the student with materials and examples that will provide them the best opportunity to master the materials they are learning.

Typically I use a combination of video demonstrations, text examples, and calculation/problem questions for practice.
