Hi I'm Lou! I'm passionate about helping students succeed in math and physics. I aim to create a supportive learning environment and take care to learn and adapt to each student's learning needs. I have been formally tutoring for a few months and currently tutor students in Algebra 1 through Multivariable Calculus and College Physics. I have over eights years of peer tutoring experience from helping classmates in sixth grade through college on a wide range of math and engineering topics.
Intensely curious, I am interested in STEM subjects and the liberal arts. I tutor to help you reach your educational goals and because it's immensely gratifying to see my students succeed.
Hi, I'm Laura! I graduated summa cum laude from Eastern Washington University with a bachelor's of science degree in mathematics and a minor in sociology. There, I earned the Frances B. Huston award, the most prestigious award given to graduating students, for excellence in academics, leadership, and community service. From there, I became a student at the University of Washington (UW), earning my Master of Science in Applied Mathematics and a position as a PhD student in the department. I was also awarded the Carl S. Pearson award for academic excellence in the Master's program. I have been working as a PhD student since then, with expertise in all types of math including algebra, calculus, linear algebra, and numerical analysis, among others. I also have years of experience coding in both python and matlab! I spent three years as an undergraduate teaching assistant, helping teach both high school and college level math classes. I also taught multiple sections of calculus at the University of Washington as a Master's student, and I have served as a teaching assistant throughout my time at UW. My favorite thing about these positions were the opportunities to work one-on-one with students, developing new approaches to help them understand difficult concepts. I love coming up with new examples or intuitive ways of thinking through math problems. I think everybody can learn math, and I love helping students of all ages and backgrounds achieve their mathematical goals! I have a number of resources to use in lesson planning, and I also welcome any resources or suggestions provided by students and parents to help tailor the experience to your needs. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or to schedule a session!
Where most students stumble in AP Pre-Calculus is the shift from computing answers to reasoning about how functions behave across different representations — tables, graphs, and equations all telling the same story. Channing's deep math background, spanning competition math through multivariable calculus, means he can trace every AP Pre-Calculus concept back to the core logic driving it, especially when piecewise and trigonometric models start demanding real analytical thinking instead of rote steps. He's also taught enough younger students to know exactly which algebraic habits need fixing before the course's pace leaves anyone behind.
Designing rocket trajectories and orbital models in his Aerospace Engineering program at UT Austin meant Pranad lived inside the trigonometric, polynomial, and exponential functions that AP Pre-Calculus is built around — they weren't textbook abstractions but tools for predicting how things move through space. He teaches the course by anchoring each function family to that intuition, especially when students hit the conceptual jump from computing answers to interpreting what a model's behavior actually means. His emphasis on connecting algebraic manipulation to graphical reasoning lines up directly with what the AP framework rewards.
As a dedicated tutor with over 7 years of experience, I hold a Bachelor's degree in Biophysics from UCLA as well as a M.S. in Medical Science from Baylor University which underpins my expertise in subjects like AP Biology, AP Calculus BC, and College Physics. My teaching philosophy centers on fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment where students feel comfortable exploring complex concepts. I am passionate about helping students achieve their academic goals and develop a genuine interest in the sciences and mathematics. I strive to connect with each student individually, tailoring my approach to their unique learning styles and needs. I love inspiring the next "Aha" moment in my students and helping them not only succeed in their classes but build a deeper appreciation and passion for the material. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy hiking and reading, which helps me bring real-world context into my lessons, making learning both relevant and enjoyable.
Hi! My name is Oscar, and I grew up in Washington, DC. I attended St. Olaf College and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in mathematics in 2023. That year I started tutoring students online and I now have two years of post-college tutoring experience. Math is a subject many students find stressful or intimidating. It might make them anxious, or math might be their least favorite class, or both! No matter where a student is coming from, my goal is to create a low-stress environment where he or she feels comfortable making mistakes and asking questions. I've worked with students from elementary school through college, often on Algebra or Algebra 2. I've helped students improve grades, understand tough homework and class concepts, prepare for the SAT and Regents exams, and get ahead by teaching future material.
Howdy! My name is Karthik, and I look forward to meeting you. I've been tutoring for over 10 years, and am excited to give you the tools to achieve success! I've seen it all, from frustrated parents who need their 8 year old to learn how to read, to high school/college students just needing a grade boost to pass a class, to retirees who finally have enough time to pick up that language they never got around to. I've personally taken courses on, passed tests for, and used the knowledge in real life for all the subjects I tutor, so I know not just how to learn, but also how to apply. If you'd like to get your personlized gameplan to never need tutoring again, help me help you and book a session today!
Northwestern's engineering curriculum threw Katherine into differential equations and systems modeling early, which means she built her fluency with polynomial, trigonometric, and exponential functions under real problem-solving pressure — not just in a precalculus classroom. She uses that background to teach AP Pre-Calculus with an emphasis on function composition and rate-of-change reasoning, walking students through how to interpret what a model is doing before worrying about computing an answer. Her engineering instinct for breaking complex problems into sequential, manageable steps translates directly to the multi-part analysis questions the AP exam favors.
Training AI models at Western University means Syed regularly implements the polynomial, trigonometric, and exponential functions that AP Pre-Calculus covers — fitting curves to data, tuning activation functions, and modeling nonlinear relationships all require genuine fluency with how these function families behave. His electrical engineering background at LUMS added a layer of signal-processing intuition that makes him especially sharp on trigonometric identities and periodic modeling, two areas where the AP exam demands more than rote computation. He walks students through the reasoning behind composition and transformation questions until the logic feels automatic, not memorized.

I love helping people! Whether it's learning math, writing, reading, etc. or playing sports, I really enjoy seeing other succeed via my assistance. I try to relate to students in whatever they enjoy and in doing so, apply concepts to our like interests to work through difficult subjects as well as to help foster a good, professional relationship. I have tutored several students in both math and English in the past and they have enjoyed resounding success and continue to reach out for my assistance. I look forward to working with and meeting many students and parents while helping them succeed in any way I can. When I am not tutoring, I enjoy playing sports (golf, basketball, softball, volleyball), playing with my dog, and hanging out with my wife. In addition, I am a meteorologist and oceanographer following my graduation at Penn State University with a BS in Meteorology.
