I have worked with the following populations throughout my travels in varies non-profit organizations: Homeless, formerly homeless, single women family shelters; family shelters, single room occupancy programs; mentally ill; substance abuse; formerly incarcerated; youth at risk and adults with developmental disabilities. I am passionate about enhancing the development of others for the betterment of our society, and improving the quality of life for others. I have actively advocated and lobbied for the youth at risk and developmental disabilities populations. Prior to my social services career, I served as a United States Army Reservist for several years until I was honorably discharged in November 2000.In my pre-collegiate years, I have demonstrated an authentic and genuine ability to influence and inspire others through leadership. In high school, I participated in two school leadership groups. For Our Children's Sake was a non-profit organization that promoted awareness about South African apartheid systems. HOSA Health Occupations Students of America - a student leadership group for health students. I was a local, city and state officer for the New York State chapters. In college, I pledged Delta Phi Epsilon Sorority, a non-sectarian sisterhood that promoted education, community and advocacy. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Conflict Resolution in 2004 at the CUNY Baccalaureate Program located in New York, NY then Masters of Science in Organizational Leadership at the Nyack College Manhattan Campus on September 2014. My master thesis project is "Exploring the relationship between corporate social responsibility and employee engagement." Throughout this journey, I have enhanced my reading and writing skills to assist others within in student body. All of these organizations developed and enhanced my innate ability to lead. I currently reside with my daughter and mother whom inspire me to greatness. I am an active member of my local church group. I spend my free time reading, writing and crocheting.
