I began to help others with subjects such as math and science at my uncle's local community center. When I was in the 8th grade, I would help kids who were much younger than I was at the time. As I grew older and learned more about mathematics and other subjects I also learned to tutor those around me in the same subjects. I began to prep for my SATs from when I finished 8th grade and by the time I was in 10th grade I was tutoring some who were older than I was at the time. I always enjoyed helping others in math and helping them excel. Recently a girl I tutored for SHSAT was accepted into Stuyvesant High School. She called me to tell me the great news, and I was filled with happiness. Moments like that are the reason why I began helping others by tutoring. In my culture tutors and teachers are highly respected; I love the respect that comes with the job. I hope to be a valuable asset to those who rely on me to further enhance their education. In my free time I enjoy playing and watching basketball. I also love to sketch and spend time with friends outside. I love the feeling of being outdoors and enjoying the sun.
