I am a former Algebra 1, Algebra 2, and Geometry teacher. I also have experience tutoring middle school and elementary school students. I earned my undergraduate degree in Economics from Brown University, and my Masters in Education from Loyola Marymount University. I currently work as the Associate Director of Programs for a non profit organization that puts student centered curriculums in schools and after school programs. I seek every opportunity to help students succeed and feel good about their academic experiences. As a tutor, I believe in learning about my student and his or her needs first, listening to my students goals, setting collective goals, and emphasizing growth (growth WILL HAPPEN!). I stay patient and provide specific steps for concepts. I am clear in my responses, I ask questions, I check for understanding, and I remain encouraging!
