About Me

I'm a certified Math teacher in NY. I have over 8 years teaching experience in NYC public schools, in grades 7-12. I enjoy working with children and adults of all ages. My favorite part of teaching is when students have an "ah-ha" moment and everything clicks and comes together. I also like watching children become more confident in their abilities and their skill level and grades improve. I have a BA in Business Administration, with a minor in Economics from the University of Connecticut. I have an MS in Secondary Education from Pace University and an MA in Education Policy from Columbia University. In my free time I enjoy art, design, yoga, cooking, and holistic wellness.

Teaching and learning should be tailored to meet the individualized needs of every student. I incorporate visual, tactile, and other aids to cater to students' learning styles. Since a child must make themselves vulnerable in order to learn, I treat each student with respect and kindness. Creating a safe and effective learning environment is very important to me. Additionally, I place equal emphasis on the acquisition of conceptual understanding and technical skill and ability.
