About Me
I hold a BA in English with Departmental Honors from Southern Connecticut State University and an MFA in Writing from Sarah Lawrence College. I am a teacher consultant with the Connecticut Writing Project (UCONN), a representative and fellow with the Yale New Haven Teachers' Institute and a national fellow with the Yale National Initiative Teacher's Institute. I have coauthored the New Haven Public Schools English curriculum for grades 11 and 12.I have been teaching for eight years and working with youth in the nonprofit sector for over a decade. Outside of school, my passions are social justice, writing and my cats. My expertise is secondary English literature, composition and the college essay. I have worked with students to prepare admissions statements that helped earn them entrance into Yale University, Columbia University, Cornell University, Howard University, etc. I look forward to meeting with you and supporting you as you strive for your academic goals.
Hobbies & Interests
Outside of teaching, I enjoy reading, writing, hiking and discussing politics and history.
