I am a 1st Grade teacher in Brooklyn, NY and also have several years experience tutoring. I love helping my students build their confidence and find new strategies to tackle challenging academic material. I believe that students can greatly benefit from the addition of one-one tutoring both academically and personally. I am very familiar with K-2 Common Core State Standards for math and am able to teach to these standards in a variety of instructional ways. I have experience teaching reading from beginning phonics/pre-reading through 4th and 5th grade reading levels. I am experienced in all areas of reading instruction, including phonics, comprehension, and fluency. I teach a variety of phonics curriculum including Open Court and Reading Mastery.
