Karen Talbott, CVT, LVT, RVT, VTS studied biomedical science at Texas A&M. She later returned to school at Cedar Valley College to study veterinary technology. In 2021, Mrs. She has worked in the veterinary field since 1989 in a variety of venues including private practice, specialty practice, emergency medicine, academia and corporate medicine. Karen has special interests in anesthesiology and practice management. One of her greatest passions is helping others achieve their goals in the field. She has taught at the University of Texas at Arlington and Linn Benton College in Albany, Oregon. Her desire to see the profession move forward led her to serve on the technician association boards in both Texas and Oregon. She currently serves on the CE and licensure committees for NAVTA.In her spare time, Karen works with her service cat, Raider, to help train other rescue cats to become diabetic alert cats. They also visit diabetic children in the hospital. Also, she enjoys drawing and painting. Recently, she has begun Deck Diving Competition with her puppies. During football season, she is a devoted Texas A&M Aggie fan. Currently, Karen and her husband, Eric, reside in the Greater Houston area with their Brittany puppy and four very spoiled feline sons. They also have two grown daughters and twin grand babies.
