About Me

I'm passionate about helping students because I believe that one of the reasons why humans exist is to continuously expand our knowledge! I've always loved working with students of all ages and levels; being able to provide new knowledge and facilitate learning has helped shape me into the passionate educator that I am today! I received my Bachelor of Music and my Master of Music from Florida International University's School of Music. My specialty is in music, voice, Music Theory, Audition Prep, and piano. Since I did extensive research for my masters degree, I also tutor in English (high school and college), writing, and essay editing. I also speak Spanish fluently and took A-Level Spanish in High School. My favorite subject to tutor is vocal technique, since that is my specialty! I spent my higher education honing my craft as a Classical Vocal Performance major. I believe that, as a teacher, it is incredibly important to encourage critical thinking and self evaluation, regardless of the subject being taught. As a teacher, I always ask my students to provide feedback for their own performance so that we can discuss and critique together, which helps stimulate critical thinking. Outside of academia, I love to read and attend plays/musicals. I'm also a huge fan of all sorts of film genres. I thoroughly enjoy the arts and consider them to be an integral part of our culture and society.
