For the 18 years of my adult life I worked at various positions at a major oil company assisting lawyers, geologists, and engineers. I decided to complete my bachelor's degree and become an educator. I have a bachelor's degree in Applied Arts and Science, master's degrees in School Administration and School Counseling from Lamar University. I have the following certifications: Special Education, ESL, Generalist (Grades 4-8), Principal, and School Counselor. I have training in assessing for dyslexia and providing skills training for the identified students. I have worked with struggling learners in both the special education and general education population. I have worked with other educators to develop appropriate educational plans for individual students. I believe that all students can learn but that each student needs to be reached in the way that is appropriate for him/her.

I am interested in team sports of all kinds. I am an avid supporter of many young people. I love to read crime, mystery, and suspense novels.
