10+ years of tutoring
Chris
- I am a rising senior at Emory University studying Quantitative Neuroscience with a minor in Spanish.
- I'm passionate about teaching students effective ways to learn and even appreciate these difficult subjects.
About Me
I have been a tutor for Spanish, math, and chemistry since high school, where I was a coteacher for AP Spanish Literature and Culture during my junior year. My favorite subjects to tutor are Spanish and calculus--I love to show the visual side of math and the reasoning behind concepts in Spanish, such as the subjunctive. Too often, I think math is taught as theoretical concepts when it is also quite visual, and I've seen graphing approaches be very helpful for my students. Similarly, Spanish is sometimes taught via memorization, but there are many ways to simplify Spanish by learning how to think about it differently.
Hobbies & Interests
Outside of school, I am a competitive swimmer and I love to ride my bike around Atlanta. In quarantine, I've been playing a lot of cards; my favorite games are Hearts and Euchre. Otherwise, I love listening to Spanish music, watching movies, cooking, and being in nature.
