About Me

My name is Allison Thompson and I absolutely love teaching. I also love learning and consider myself to be a "life long learner." Education is something that is a constant. No matter what age you are, there is always something incredible to learn! Here is some of my background information, I am an experienced classroom and online teacher who holds a Multiple Subject CA Teaching Credential with TESOL/TEFL certifications. In addition I have a Bachelor's Degree in Education and a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I have over 15 years of experience teaching in a Montessori Pre-School and as a grade level teacher for the public school district NMUSD. My most recent experience has been primarily online for the last 5 years where I have been working for an ESL company as an English Language Learning teacher. I have loved every day of it! I also have enjoyed tutoring on a separate homeschool platform. That specific platform allowed me to use my creativity and Master's Degree knowledge in developing my own curriculum personalized for all different students. I absolutely cannot see myself doing anything else other than online learning for the rest of my teaching career. I love creating and tailoring curriculum to specific age groups and targeting fun educational topics for students of all ages. Some of my favorite class subjects are science, reading, writing, grammar, life skills, health, reading readiness, history, animals, social studies, math, and community citizenship. I enjoy all subjects and teach to the greatest of my ability by implementing fun games, interactive activities, Google Slides, Nearpod lessons, and more. I so hope to meet your learners soon!
