I graduated summa cum laude from Susquehanna University with two Bachelor of Arts degrees - one in Creative Writing and another in Religious Studies. While in college, I served as Student Government President, Slam Poetry Club President, received all-conference softball honors, and was selected as the Outstanding Woman of the Year for my graduating class. I then spent two years teaching Reading, Remedial English, Religious Studies, History, and Service Learning at a private middle school in Massachusetts. While teaching full-time in Massachusetts, I earned my Teaching English as a Foreign Language certification from the Boston Language Institute. I then moved to Jakarta, Indonesia, where I spent two years teaching ESL to students from grade one to grade twelve. In addition to this, I worked as a private home teacher for two young learners. In my free time, I was a volunteer CrossFit kids coach. I am now in the final months of my MA in Conflict Transformation and Social Justice at Queen's University Belfast. While living in Belfast, I have volunteer facilitated creative writing workshops for young people, served as a youth mentor at a local community centre, worked as a Reading Mentor for youth in foster care, and run the social media channels for my university's Humanities department. My tutoring style revolves around building a student's confidence in their abilities, regardless of the subject matter. I make every effort to build rapport with my students in order to better understand their strengths, weaknesses, and goals. I also wholeheartedly believe that every interaction is a chance for further education, and I strive to cultivate curiosity in my students.

When I'm not tutoring, teaching, or working on my dissertation, I enjoy weightlifting, working towards my goal of running a marathon, slam poetry, and traveling. In addition to living on three different continents, I've also visited 30+ countries and am always looking for my next adventure.
