I have previously tutored high school English, focusing on thesis development, grammatical skills, and creative writing. My experience creating weekly curriculums for students in preschool through 12th grade as an activity facilitator for Chautauqua Institution allowed me to refine many of my teaching skills. I was especially enthusiastic about my lessons on poetry and nature literature. Although my interest in teaching began in high school, my Education minor has given me more hands-on experience working with students. The minor has also introduced me to new teaching methods, as I have been able to dissect education theory and policy. In my free time, I read a lot of non-fiction, draw, and watch the West Wing.

I love reading, art, and the outdoors. My favorite authors are Mitch Albom, Lorrie Moore, and Jon Krakauer. I enjoy visiting museums and painting during my spare time. I also have a passion for writing fiction. I have been lucky enough to compete in a number of creative writing competitions, and I am especially interested in writing short stories.
