From an early age, teaching and mentoring have been passions of mine, and I was able to hone those skills while studying English and writing at Gettysburg College. After receiving my BA, I worked in digital marketing as a lead writer and content creator, helping small businesses expand online. The pandemic realigned my priorities, however, and I switched careers to teaching. For the past year, I have been teaching English online as I work to receive my English Teacher Certification. My teaching philosophy involves an emphasis on critical thinking and helping students find connections in literature, and I love to use modern art and culture to show how old ideas and people have had profound influences on our own lives.
