I bring over 40 years experience teaching and directing children's experiential learning programs to tutoring your child online or virtually providing at-home classes. I hold permanent New York State Birth - Grade 6 teaching certification and I recently received a Master's in Education from LeMoyne College in Syracuse. My approach is positive and encouraging. By learning about your child's interests and unique personality I will craft activities which ensure ownership in the learning process. I consider both you, your child, and other educators/support persons (when applicable) as partners in your child's success. Most recently, in conjunction with the Syracuse City School District, I directed Erwin PreSchool, a quality early childhood program, and I served as an Early Childhood Specialist, working closely with the director, the district, and Universal Pre-Kindergarten teachers to ensure best practices. During COVID, I was privileged to not only support teachers while they conducted lively virtual learning, but I actually led many sessions myself. Generating enthusiasm for the learning progress, skillful individualization, experience in many education areas, and a pleasant, encouraging manner are among what I will provide. As a partner in your child's learning, you can expect my professional and friendly collaboration with what/how I teach, scheduling, and anything else.
