Amy
- I am a graduate of the University of Texas at San Antonio and Texas Tech University.
About Me
I received my Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies (Early Childhood Education) and a Masters of Special Education with a focus on Autism (Autism Certificate). Since graduation, I have worked in a variety of settings with children from birth to 18 years with the majority of my experience as a teacher in public school general education/special education, Kindergarten-5th grade. While I have tutored a broad range of subjects and grade levels, I am most passionate about working with students who have special needs and who may not learn in the traditional manner. I love finding new and creative ways to reach every child, just where they are! Something I always try to do with the students I work with is to ignite a spark that makes them enthusiastic about learning. I strive to provide a solid foundation that creates a want for students to become lifelong learners. My hope is that every student I work with walks away feeling valued and inspired. In my spare time, you can find me immersed in a good book near any body of water, whether it be a pool, the river, or the beach.
Hobbies & Interests
I am an avid reader and most happy when I am in the sun and next to a body of water! I love going to see live music and making personalized gifts with my Cameo for friends and family. I volunteer for the SA Stock Show and Rodeo BBQ Cook-Off Committee and Bustin' in the Barn (muttin bustin), both of which raise scholarship money for our youth.
