About Me
I come from a family of teachers. My mom taught middle school English and grammar, and two of my aunts and my grandmother are/ were teachers. When I was in elementary school, I was diagnosed with ADHD, so at times, I struggled to learn new concepts or material. My family's passion for education and my own struggles inspired me to try and help others learn. Most of my professional experience has been in finance and politics, but in the fall of 2021, I began tutoring a high school senior in writing. I knew I wanted to continue working with students, so I looked into what options might be available. I found the Varsity Tutors platform, and it allows me to work with students, while still pursuing my other professional interests. I am available for tutoring in high school and college level English, writing, history, and politics/ government.
Hobbies & Interests
My interests include politics, sports, movies/ TV, cooking, and gardening. I love to read, primarily newspaper and magazine articles. Growing up, I played football, basketball, baseball, golf, and tennis. These days, I love to golf when the weather is warm, and each winter, I try to take at least 1 ski trip. Several years ago, I was able to spend a ski season living and working in Breckenridge, CO, and it was one of my favorite experiences so far in my life. I have been a lifelong fan the University of Georgia football team, and in the fall, I attend most of their games.
