I have been teaching for 7 years (1 year in 4th grade, 5 years in kindergarten, and 1 year in 2nd grade) and I absolutely love instilling the love of learning in my students! I particularly love teaching phonics, phonemic awareness, literacy skills, print awareness, cardinality, numeracy skills, subitizing, base ten, and place value. Working with a vast amount of students from differing backgrounds and learning styles has helped me acquire multiple teaching methods and strategies. I graduated from Appalachian State University in 2016 with a bachelor of science degree in elementary education with a concentration in English. I am planning to apply within the next few years to graduate school for a dual masters degree in library science and educational media.
