Greetings my fellow students, I am Mr. Mateo and I have worked with inner city elementary and middle school students professionally for 9 years and I graduated with my Masters of Science in Education from Lehman College and I have my Bachelors Degree in History From St. John's University. For my skills, I can say that I am bilingual and fluent in both English and Spanish, build social and emotional learning among students of color and whom need emotional support. Thus, I have worked with students who were English Language Learners and of whom had disabilities, in which I had to modify and make accommodations to the curriculum to meet their learning, social, and emotional needs inside and outside of the classroom. Furthermore, these experiences, in essence, will allow me to differentiate instruction and to break down today's learning curriculum standards and content that will match their interests, learning, emotional, and social needs. In turn, I believe that these attributes can bring forth a connection and growth with the students that I wish to work, mentor, and teach here at Varsity Tutors!
