I received my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from Morgan State University, a Master's degree as a Reading Specialist from Brooklyn College, and a Master's in Education Administration from Grand Canyon University. I am a 30-year veteran elementary school educator. I have taught K-4th grades in large urban centers. In my roles as a classroom teacher, instructional coach, and assistant principal, I've worked mainly with underserved student bodies from Baltimore, MD, to Brooklyn, NY. As an elementary school teacher, I have taught all subjects, but I have a passion for teaching reading. Reading is the one skill that you have to know how to do in order to learn all the other content areas. Reading is not only necessary for learning. Reading is also something to be enjoyed. I want to share my love of reading with the students that I tutor.
