After graduating with a Masters in Elementary Teaching I taught 4-6th grades for my first 10 years before becoming a floating teacher/tutor and working with preschool-4th grade students for five years. I enjoy making learning relevant, providing consistent encouragement and helping my students celebrate their successes. It is important to me that my students become better at managing their educational goals independently and take on a sense of ownership for their learning.

My passion for working with children extends beyond the classroom. I volunteer with a therapeutic horseback riding program that teaches horsemanship skills while providing physical and mental exercises for students with varying abilities. This also taps into my passion for animals! I have two dogs who are learning how to become therapy dogs and who love to go for walks and play fetch with me! Curling up with a good book or movie is also fun on a rainy day!
