About Me

I graduated from Northern Arizona University where I received my Bachelor of Science in Elementary and Special Education. Upon graduation, I served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where I was able to teach and learn from the people in Oklahoma for a year and a half. After completing my mission work, I began my teaching career in Colorado. For 3 years, I taught students with disabilities ranging from learning disabilities to intellectual and physical disabilities. After getting married, I moved to Utah where I taught students with behavioral and emotional disabilities. I taught students grades Kindergarten through 4th grade in my 4 years of teaching. Therefore, I specialize in teaching young students with disabilities specifically in the core areas of reading, writing, mathematics, executive functioning, and behavior. However, I love to teach reading, especially to students who have dyslexia. I am Orton Gillingham Trained specifically for students with dyslexia because I am very passionate about teaching all students to read. I strongly believe that education is important to improve the quality of life for all people and I know that all people are capable of learning. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, exercising, and watching movies.
