I spent 20+ years in pediatrics: neonatal ICU and diabetes at 2 large children's hospitals. The last 8 years have been in academia, teaching nursing to future nurses. I believe that every nurse is a "leader" and a "teacher". As healthcare continues to change, we need competent nurses that are both: strong leaders and teachers. I use several methods when teaching students and or clients: mentoring, coaching, instructing with return demonstration and positive feedback and constructive conversations. My hope is to leave a "legacy" of the passion for nursing for a future generation that will ultimately lead to improved patient and family care, involving the whole person and the mentality to treat others like you want to be treated.

I love to work in my yard and play with our little grandbaby, who is 2 y/o. I am very involved in my churches women's ministry and choir. I love teaching ladies Bible studies
