Soo Young
- I am a graduate of Wesleyan University, a liberal arts college in Connecticut.
About Me
I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Education Studies with a minor in East Asian Studies. I completed my Master of Arts in Psychology conducting research in the Community-engaged Adolescent for Research and Equity (CARE) Lab. At Wesleyan University, I was a teaching assistant for Advanced Korean, Korean Language Partner, and a Korean tutor for the Dean's Peer Tutoring program. While I have tutored a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about Korean as I am a Korean-American myself. As Korean culture has been expanding globally, I think it is important to properly learn the culture and the language. In my experience helping students learn Korean to achieve their goals, whether that is to communicate with family, study in Korea, and/or travel to Korea, is always such a fun and rewarding experience. I am willing to adapt to the needs of my tutee/student at their pace and goals to learn.
Hobbies & Interests
I am interested in conducting research to help immigrant communities. My hobbies include yoga, singing, listening to Korean music, and cooking Korean food!
