About Me

I am very passionate about helping others learn in interesting, meaningful ways such as with Kagan Cooperative Learning. I am a certified teacher and have taught in public schools for 35 years. As an educator, I mostly taught grade 3 and 4. My education includes a BS degree in Elementary Education in 1988 from Iowa State University. In addition, I have a MS in Curriculum design, Instruction, and Assessment from Walden University in 2006. My approval to tutor is in the following areas: Elementary School English, Elementary School Math, Elementary School Reading, Elementary School Writing, English, Expository Writing, Math, Reading, and Writing. My favorite subject to tutor is math because I like to see peoples light go on, and with math I see it! My teaching and tutoring style is to create fun learning experiences that create learning! Outside of academia, I am interested in building meaningful relationships and memories with play, art, and fun! I also truly believe in the power of yet. The Power of Yet I can't do that---ends a story. I can't do that YET---means ANYTHING is possible!
