I have been an English teacher for 25 years. I have also co-taught in social studies and science classrooms. I have a Master's in Education & Curriculum, a Master's in Educational Leadership, and a Master's in Literacy Education. I have worked as an Illinois state-certified high school reading specialist for the past several years. My daily classes involve working with struggling readers as well as preparing students for the reading portion of the PSAT/SAT/ACT tests. I also have extensive experience teaching students how to read text for information (non-fiction) and take effective notes on material.

I like to run and exercise, enjoy reading all types of books - fiction, non-fiction and graphic novels. I listen to a lot of different kinds of music but prefer rock. I enjoy building things and working around the house and love movies, especially superhero and Star Wars films.
