About Me
I am a graduate of The University of Missouri (Go Tigers!). I received my Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education. Since graduation, I have taught in a variety of school districts and tutored elementary students before and after school. I am certified to teach birth through 3rd grade and have been trained in Arts Integration strategies. While I tutor a range of subjects, I am most passionate about teaching kids how to read, build number sense and foundational math skills, and early writing skills. In my experience helping students learn how to be readers, writers and mathematicians, we always seem to have the most enjoyment through predictable sessions that include music, art and play. I believe learning through the arts best prepares children for life. I support the goals of the families I work with to reach shared goals while taking into account the whole child (socially, emotionally, physically and academically). In my spare time, I enjoy reading that which enriches my life, spending time with my toddlers, attending concerts, and traveling.
Hobbies & Interests
I enjoy art, creating, going to the library, attending concerts, spending time outside, researching developmentally appropriate PT, OT and speech skills for my toddlers, and creating calm minimalist interior design.
