Once I graduated, I quickly landed my dream position as a second grade math and science teacher. I then transferred to a school closer to home, to teach 4th grade. I quickly fell in love with teaching older students my favorite subject, math! After four years with 4th grade, I was moved to 5th grade math and social studies. I soon realized I loved the conversations that my classes and I would have when reading articles or learning about the American Revolution. After one year in 5th grade, I decided to go back to school to obtain my Masters in School Counseling from Lamar University. My ten years in teaching have taught me alot, but the most important is that every child learns differently. It is not always easy, but when I can figure out how to adapt to each students needs it is truly rewarding to see how excited they are when they understand new concepts.

I love going to the movies. Since graduating in May 2023, I now have more time to read. I enjoy spending time with my family, especially my daughter and son. My daughter and I love making shirts and dancing. My husband and I love to tryout new restaurants. I love sports, especially football and basketball.
