- I'm thrilled to embark on this educational journey with each of you.
About Me
My name is Nashema, and I bring a rich tapestry of academic experience to our classroom. My passion for education began at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where I earned my bachelor's degree in African American and Diaspora Studies. This foundational experience ignited my curiosity and commitment to understanding the complexities of culture, history, and identity. Building upon this foundation, I pursued a master's degree in English and African American Literature from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. This journey allowed me to delve deeper into the nuances of literature, language, and storytelling within the context of African American experiences. For the past several years, I've had the privilege of sharing my knowledge and enthusiasm for English literature with students ranging from elementary to high school levels. Whether it's exploring the works of Langston Hughes, Toni Morrison, or introducing the power of storytelling to our youngest learners, my goal is to foster an environment where every student feels inspired, empowered, and valued. I aim to create a space where curiosity is encouraged, critical thinking is cultivated, and empathy is embraced. Together, we will embark on a journey of exploration, discovery, and growth. I'm here to support you every step of the way, as we uncover the beauty and complexity of language and literature. I look forward to getting to know each of you, learning alongside you, and celebrating our successes together. Let's embark on this adventure, where learning knows no bounds, and possibilities are endless. Warm regards, Nashema Heard
