About Me
I am a college graduate of Bloomsburg University where I received my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, Special Education, and Middle School English Language Arts. I taught at the elementary and middle school level as I was the Learning Support coordinator for the whole school (Grades K-12). I really enjoy teaching math and reading/writing. I know how to make learning fun so my students really enjoyed coming to my one to one and small group lessons. Even the kids who didn't have learning disabilities wanted to come to my classroom! During my time in Germany I received my Orton Gillingham training as well as attended many conferences on differentiated instruction and inclusion in the classroom, and reading and writing workshops. I am also Numicon trained. I have lots of experience with teaching students one on one. I have taught in this setting in Germany as well as when we went online during the pandemic. After teaching in Germany, I moved to Spain and taught for two years at a bilingual high school. I taught in English alongside Spanish teachers in their subject area classes. These were bilingual classes where I taught vocabulary and grammar in English while the teachers taught the content. I am now close to fluent in Spanish and I have a lot more knowledge about these subjects. When I am not teaching I enjoy snowboarding, hiking, lifting weights, drinking a cold brew and reading a good book!
Hobbies & Interests
["I love to be active! I enjoy going to the gym and doing outdoor activities such as going on walks or hikes. \r\nIn the wintertime you can find me on the mountains snowboarding from sun up until sun down. \r\nI am extremely passionate about learning Spanish. My goal is to be a fluent Spanish speaker and be able to use my skills as a Special Education teacher and Spanish teacher to help students in the United States who are English Language Learners and have special needs. \r\nFinally","I enjoy a good book and a nice cup of coffee","while watching the sunrise ??"]
