- Since about age 8, I have always known I wanted to help others succeed, no matter what it was in.
- I semi-retired this year, but could not imagine not working with students.
About Me
This led me to enter the education field as a NYS Certified Vocal Music teacher in 1997. Shortly after, I discovered my love for helping people with learning needs, so I earned my Masters degree in Special Education K-12 in 2001. I immediately was hired at a small school and worked there for 23 years teaching a wide variety of different subjects and class types. This led me to exploring tutoring opportunities such as this. I am trained in the Orton-Gillingham Method for students with Dyslexia, as well as being trained to work with students with ADHD or Autism. I earned my certificate as a Youth-Mental Health First Aide responder, and feel strongly about promoting mental well-being. Given my varied experiences, I am comfortable tutoring in almost any subject from grades K up to grade 9/10. I am most passionate about helping students find success and getting them excited to learn.
