About Me

I am a graduate of Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas. I completed my Bachelor's degree in Education with a focus on Special Education in 2005. I have 19 years of experience in the classroom. I taught a Middle School Special Education self-contained class for 17 years and the last two years I have taught a Kindergarten and 1st grade Special Education self-contained class. As a teacher of a self-contained classroom, my students stay with me all day and receive all subjects with me. As a Special Education teacher I am required to follow each student's Individual Education Plan, which requires me to design a program that fits each student individually. Throughout my career, I have provided teaching assistance to students using proven skills in curriculum planning, group and individual instruction and classroom management. I am a caring and enthusiastic teacher naturally suited to work with students with all abilities and learning styles. I am confident in my abilities to be an advocate for all of my students, and I strive to work with parents to help students progress. My greatest joy is seeing my students learn, grow, and develop not only their academic skills, but also their social skills.
