About Me

I am passionate about helping students because it is in my DNA. I am a 3rd generation educator so I have teaching in my blood. Lol. Also, I have witnessed how teachers impact the lives of children in a tremendous way. I have had the opportunity to teach in 3 different states including the midwest and the south. These students have ranged in grades from kindergarten to fourth grades. I have 11 years of classroom experience in public schools and charter schools. I received my Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education from USC. I am presently enrolled in a Master's program in Counseling. This will help strengthen my understanding of the various children and their family dynamics. I will learn how that plays a role in their learning process and how I can best teach them. The subjects I tutor are mainly Reading, Writing and Math in the elementary levels K-5. My favorite subjects to tutor are these three just mentioned. It is a three way tie because they all work together. My teaching philosophy is that every child can learn. We just have to find their learning style and teach them where they are-even if they are grade levels behind. If they already excel, I believe in pushing them forward at a pace that suites them. My style of tutoring is getting to know the student first and implementing their likes. I am also very professional and very patient. Outside of teaching I love to spend time with my family, attend church in person or virtually, meet new people, roller skate, and read about new things.
