About Me
My career began with nine years in public accounting, followed by a long tenure as an accountant in the Division of Corporation Finance at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). At the SEC, I reviewed financial statements and other financial disclosures included in disclosure documents such as Form 10-K, 10-Q and Registration and Proxy Statements playing an integral role to ensure compliance with SEC and Accounting (GAAP) rules and to improve disclosures for investors. Now in retirement, I've chosen to tutor to give back to the next generation of accountants. I aim to make a positive impact by sharing not just technical knowledge, but also the practical, real-world insights I gained throughout my career. My teaching philosophy is centered around listening, encouragement, and accountability. I strive to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and building confidence. I focus on simplifying complex concepts and using real-world examples to help students connect theory to practice. My ultimate goal is to empower each student to take ownership of their learning and achieve lasting results.
